Craig L. McDonald, M.D. was certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in 1995 and re-certified by the Board in 2004. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, a member of the Texas Medical Association, the Brazoria County Medical Society and the Texas Orthopaedic Association.

In private practice in Angleton since 1993, Dr. McDonald has served Angleton and the surrounding communities as a general orthopaedic surgeon, specializing in sports-related injuries as well as joint replacement. He is trained in and routinely performs procedures such as the Oxford, a revolutionary partial knee replacement that is minimally invasive, requires little down time yet yields excellent results.

During his initial appointment with his patients, Dr. McDonald evaluates their medical history and the reason for the visit using physical exam, X-Ray, MRI imaging, CAT scan or a combination of these methods. His first objective is to find the most effective and least invasive solution that will return his patients to a normal, healthy lifestyle. This may include rest, medication and/or physical therapy.

Should surgery be required, Dr. McDonald will discuss the options available as well as what can be expected with regard to recovery time and outcome of the surgery. Any possible complications will be discussed and he will answer any questions at that time. Surgeries can be done at the state-of-the-art Brazoria County Surgery Center, at the newly renovated Angleton-Danbury Medical Center, or at Brazosport Memorial Hospital. Most surgeries can be scheduled without lengthy delays.

With training and experience in the latest surgical techniques, and a solid background in joint replacement, Dr. McDonald and his staff provide Angleton and surrounding communities with a standard of orthopaedic care found at the largest medical centers in the country, but with hometown friendliness and convenience."
