- DisagreeIt was easy to get an appointment.
- It seems that now they have ore patients but its harder to get an appointment than before when the office was always busy with patients.
- Strongly DisagreeThe wait time was short during my visit.
- Even when I am the only patient there, they have us waiting nearly 30 min. in the exam room to be seen, and then an additional 15-20 to return after English has given the student his final decision.
- NeutralThe staff was professional and friendly.
- The staff isn't rude, but I've seen friendlier staff. It depends on which receptionist you're dealing with I guess.
- Strongly DisagreeMy problem was accurately diagnosed.
- They do NOT listen to you, and often try to write off all your problems as being "in your head". They don't order blood work, and other testing, which can prevent further complications. They absolutely HATE to give referrals. Absolutely USELESS doctor with serious case of narcissism. I and others i personally know who have dealt with this practice end up in the hospital before anything is done, and even then this practice is reluctant to work with your other health care providers. Arrogance at its worst, endangering patients' lives.
- Strongly DisagreeThe doctor spent enough time with me.
- They take forever to come in the exam room, and when they do they rush you, don't answer questions, and do not inform you well about your own health. The student doctors are the ones who see you, and they leave quick to fetch Dr.English last word on your health, and you wait forever for that decision. For all the time you spend in the office, maybe 5 is spent with one of the doctors. Dr.English is a very uncaring, condescending doctor, and he teaches his students to treat patients the same way. Its clear he's in this for the money & status only, NOT to improve his patients' quality of life, and certainly not to prevent & heal illnesses. Save your money & go elsewhere, even if you have to travel out of area. Your life is worth it.
- Strongly DisagreeThere was appropriate follow up after my visit.
- They rarely return calls, do not listen to you, so they definitely do not follow up after any visits. They don't even communicate with your other doctors. My specialist told me to find another PCP because Dr.English's office constantly refuse requests, and recommendations for my care. They refuse to communicate with my specialist. Her words were, "I've never seen such unprofessional doctors in all my years of medicine. How can I treat you effectively without their help. The primary care is supposed to be in partnership with a patients specialists, not in opposition to them"? She told me to leave them or my health will get worse. So, not only do the not follow-up with you, they don't even follow-up with other doctors. You are just a name on a billing statement and nothing more. They're not worth the co-pay they get from me.
There is NOTHING good about this doctor. Some of the students may be well-meaning, but Dr. English makes the final decisions, and will over-ride any good decision on treatment, testing, or referrals the student suggests.
× Negative Comments:Stay away from them. In areas where there is quality healthcare this practice would be shut down. They've changed their names several times, and currently its called Wilkes-Barre Academic Medicine. It is the same old place, run by the same old unethical doctor, who refuses to listen to patients' concerns, and looks down on them as if they are all court jesters with no intellect. He has a god complex, which causes him to neglect his patients, placing their health and lives in danger. Please, do not go to this practice. He also gives you trouble to fill out simple paper work. He's the worst doctor I've ever dealt with and ALL the people I know who went to him feel the same. Unfortunately, they are many because there are so few doctors here, leaving most people with no choice but to go to English. Those who can, quickly make the decision to travel to a good doctor. As I said, there is a shortage of doctors in the area, and you may have to travel out of county to find a caring, competent, and ethical doctor. It may be a hassle, but your health & life depend on it.
• General Comments:Besides the poor healthcare you'll receive here, they have cameras in the exam rooms. So someone is watching you undress, listening to your conversation with your doctor, and even your private conversation with your family member/friend who may come to the visit to support you, while the doctor is not in the room. These people not only treat you like intellectually inept simpletons, but also treat you like criminals. Your health & PRIVACY mean NOTHING to them! They get paid to make your life miserable. You will regret going there.
