Don't go to Dr. Cobin

Fair and Accurate Diagnosis
"Dr. Cobin treated me from March 1998 to August 1998. During that time, she made the preliminary correct diagnosis of Graves Disease but never gave me effective treatment. It took weeks to get back the blood word results that were done in her own office. She first prescribed PTU which stopped the tremor but which caused liver problems after a week. When my enzymes were then erratic--not what she expected by August--she asked me what I thought we should do. I thought to myself that it is time for me to go to another endocrinologist, which I did. He could not understand why I had been diagnosed in March and received no effective treatment. He is still treating me.Don't go to Dr. Cobin."

Sad to give a poor review for a doctor I used to like so much.

"I could not get an appointment because I could not reach a person to schedule it after trying daily for two weeks straight. By the time someone answered my call, I had lost my job and my FSA, so i could not afford to see Dr. C. since she does not take private insurance."

Appropriate Follow-up
I always found Dr. Cobin herself had a good bedside manner, was very professional and knowledgeable. Her staff is another matter. My records were put in storage after only 2 years. It has taken them over two months to locate the records and fax them to my new endocrinologist because Dr. Cobin was unable to see me. So, for the two months it has taken her office to locate and fax my records across town, I have not been treated for my thyroid condition. So, as a result of this experience, I will no longer be recommending this doctor to friends.

Negative Comments

I called every day for two weeks straight before I could get even the answering service, let alone her office. See above for problems with medical records. The fact that I will now be driving to her office to pick up a copy of my medical records to hand deliver to another doctor across town to ensure that I am seen, reflects negatively on her and her staff.
