Dr. Henry J. Blum, MD

Dr. Blum is the founder and chairman of the Board of the Foundation Surgical Hospital. He attended undergraduate college at the University of Texas where he graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Biology. He then earned his M.D. at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, Texas. After that, he completed a fully accredited Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He then completed an elective, addtional year of subspecialty training, called a fellowship, in Arthritis and Joint Replacement at the University of Texas Medical School in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Blum is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He has active membership in the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Harris County Medical Society, and the Houston Orthopedic Society.

He serves academic appointments as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, as Clinical Instructor at Texas Women's University, and as Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Practice at the University of Texas Medical School. He served as the Orthopedic Section Chair of Memorial Southwest Hospital from 1993-1996.

He is a published author and respected speaker in the field of orthopedic surgery.
