Dr. Diane Zitter is the most amazing physician I have ever know. She has been my GYN for 20+ years. She has performed necessary surgery, and given counsel to avoid surgery.

Positive Comments

The rooms are clean and it appears that all HIPPA regulations are followed. The mid-wife is amazing.

Negative Comments

My experience with Dr. Zitter and her office (except for the midwife) was very poor. First, the office staff is downright rude and not helpful. They make you feel like you're bothering them. Next, I left Dr. Zitter's practice halfway through my pregnancy due to her rudeness, her unprofessionalism, and because she did not seem care about me as a patient. Every time I went to the office (6 times), I waited, at minimum, forty-five minutes to an hour to see the doctor. This happened even when I was the first appointment of the day. At my last visit, Dr. Zitter, who obviously didn't even review my chart before coming into my room, didn't know what week I was along and had not scheduled for me to have my ultrasound. She told my husband and I that she could not perform an ultrasound on me for legal reasons, which is an absolute lie. Who ever heard of an OBGYN not being allowed to perform an ultrasound? Next, instead of apologizing for the mistake with scheduling, she lectured my husband and I about what an anatomy ultrasound was. When we expressed excitement about finding out the sex of our child, she scolded us, telling us that that is not the purpose of the ultrasound and that we needed to be a bit more mature about everything. Basically, she lectured us for several minutes, attempting to make us feel bad about wanting to find our child's sex, because she could not admit that she made an error (one that is honestly forgivable and reasonable--her reaction and bullying attitude though is not). Outside this specific, horrible behavior, she never knew anything about me, never cared to find out and just repeated canned advice at each of my appointments. The only thing I ever learned from her was that I needed to wear my seat belt when driving and to make sure that I ate cheese. My husband and I finally got my ultrasound at Mount Carmel. Two things: (1) it was performed by an OBGYN and (2) he was so excited for us and kept asking, Do you want to know the sex of your child? That's one of the most exciting moments for new parents. That is appropriate behavior from a physician. Dr. Zitter's attitude and behavior is not. People need to know. Physicians like Dr. Zitter should be required to have training in basic empathy and social interactions; she obviously does not understand it.

General Comments

Leaving the care of Dr. Zitter was one of the best decisions I made during my pregnancy. I feel that some people don't realize that Dr. Zitter's and her staff's behavior is absolutely wrong. I come from a family full of Doctors and medical professionals and they would NEVER treat someone the way Dr. Zitter treated my husband and me. Go to another doctor, just pay the 10-12 co-pay. It's definitely worth it. There are great physicians out there. Dr. Zitter is not one of them.
