Positive Comments

Very smart doctor who has stayed on the forefront of acid reflux issues, medications, and surgical procedures involved. Understands 2nd/3rd order effects of proton pump inhibitors are not known, but can impact quality of life.

Negative Comments

None at this time (4 months post-op)

General Comments

Had the Linx device put in for GERD. Surgery was very effective and pre-/post- operative procedures were all well handled by his staff and the hospital where he performs the procedure.

Positive Comments

Easy to get an appointment.Thyroid surgery went well.

Negative Comments

Dr. Smith was very rude to me about the fact that I went to Phoebe ER for other problems I was having, and that I got a thyroid profile while I was there. As a matter of fact he acted very ugly to me. In addition he was prescribing synthroid, and then changed it to cytomel 100 mg. I complained that I was having lots of problems - feet swelling, tightness in chest, aching joints etc. - and he made light of those problems. When I saw my endocronologist in Macon, she became very upset that he even had me on cytomel - and especially that high of a dosage. She said she would never have even given me 1/2 that dosage. My endocronologist put me back on synthroid (no generics), and I have been fine ever since. The problem from the beginning was that a lot of people can not take generic synthroid, as it has a different filler that does not work for some people.

General Comments

I would never ever recommend Dr. Smith to anyone.
