Average National Length of Stay - Hernia procedures except inguinal, femoral and umbilical This is the national average length of stay (risk adjusted) in days that patients spent in the hospital for these types of procedures. A hernia is the protrusion of a tissue through the wall of the cavity which normally contains it. The term often refers to such a protrusion through the muscular structure of the abdominal wall. This protrusion is usually more apparent when the abdominal muscles are tightened, because of the increased pressure in the abdomen. Reference: [2] [4] |
