Volume - Hysterectomy non-malignancy
This is the total number of hysterectomies non-malignancy observed at a particular hospital.
A hysterectomy is a surgical operation to remove the uterus and, sometimes, the cervix. When both the uterus and cervix are removed it is called a total hysterectomy. The term partial hysterectomy refers to removal of the uterus but not the cervix. There are two hysterectomy procedures available. Vaginal hysterectomy refers to the removal of the uterus through a surgical incision within the vagina, as opposed to abdominal hysterectomy, which refers to the removal of the uterus through an incision made in the abdominal wall.
