This is the U.S. national average length of stay (risk adjusted) in days that patients spent in the hospital for coronary bypass procedures (with cardiac catheterization).

A procedure, also known as coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), that creates new routes for the blood to detour constricted or blocked sections of one or more arteries feeding the heart. This procedure permits increased blood flow for the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the heart muscle. A vein, usually from the patient's leg or inner chest wall, is grafted to produce the bypass.
